Descriptión de Kłodzko

Klodzko - a cultural and tourist centre of the Klodzko Region. The beauty of the landscape determines its attractiveness, innumerable monuments and very good development. A trip along picturesque lanes, tightly built over by historical tenements leaves indelible memories. Near the sloping market and neighbouring streets middle-class houses survived with renaissance portals and arcades. In the centre of the market there is the city hall whose tower, covered with a beautiful baroque helmet, dates back to 1654. The tower in which a special tourist route was organised, mounts over the structures of the Old Town. One can also visit a labyrinth of dungeons and basements stretching under the town. A precious monument of the city of Klodzko is a stone bridge of the 13th century with the sculptures of Saints, modelled on the famous Bridge of Charles in Prague. Innumerable works of art are also gathered in temples. A church of the 17th century and the Convent of Franciscans at the same time prides itself on frescos dating back to 1744. The parish church from the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries and rebuilt in the 17th and 18th centuries - inside we can admire, among other things, a gothic wooden sculpture of Madonna of Klodzka, of St. Jacob's gothic chapel with murals of 1501, as well as a gothic baptismal font. The temple is a basilica structure with a beautiful net-stellar vault. We will become acquainted with the history and culture of the Klodzko Land by visiting the local museum situated in the former College of Jesuits dating from the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries.
