Walbrzych, the capital of the Province, is situated in a mountainous valley surrounded by the Walbrzyskie Mountains and the eastern part of the Walbrzyskie Foreland. Parks and forested hills in a natural way divide the town into districts, giving them their individual character, whereas numerous historical monuments witness the 700 years of the town's history. The Ksiaz castle, the third largest castle in Poland is the most precious monument in Walbrzych. It is one of the largest in Europe, the site of numerous conferences, symposiums and exhibitions.
